
Dr. Dmytro Roman Kulchitsky is an Associate Professor of International Relations at the American University of Kuwait (AUK). He is currently a member of AUK’s AI-Driven Education Research Group (AIDERG), which focuses on integrating ChatGPT into teaching and learning. Previously, he served as Chair of the Departments of International Relations and Social and Behavioral Sciences. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Professor Kulchitsky led AUK’s Technology-Supported Online Initiative, overseeing the transition of the university’s courses to an online format for Spring 2020. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from George Mason University and earned master’s degrees in Economics from both the University of Detroit and George Mason University. His research interests include (1) political economy in post-industrial societies, (2) nations and nationalism, and (3) the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence in teaching and research. Before entering academia, Dr. Kulchitsky worked for the Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS) on automation software projects in the U.S. public sector, as well as served in the Michigan State House of Representatives.
